Trying to Believe in Angels

Watched One Life to Live and General Hospital today. When Dorian announced who the new police commissioner was, the rest of the Cramer women had the best reactions. Honestly. I understand why they moved out, I would have in their positions, but I my first thought was that it's going to be harder for Dorian to protect them from Mitch's craziness since they moved out. They're not under the same roof anymore. It almost cancels out the whole reason why she's going along with Mitch's craziness, because she wants to protect them.

And the hell is Langston doing? She's not interesting most of the time, but her drooling all over that other guy is annoying and I've only seen it really in one episode. The fact that Markko is working his ass to conform to her fantasies is a little sick to me. There's nothing wrong with the boy. I can totally see a train wreck happening, and it's not going to be fun to watch.

I don't feel bad for Rex at all. Cheating is never right, and this sounds childish, but he did it first. Rex was fooled by Stacy, which that in itself is stupid and an insult to the viewers. Everyone watching can see right through Stacy and it's not because we saw her scheming; it because she's badly acted and badly written. The dupes and lies were stupid and the fact that Rex and Gigi believed them was baffling. Rex has been acting like an ass practically since Stacy showed up.

I feel like I'm still getting over the season. I'm still tired and want not to do a whole lot/ Maybe pack. We need to go shopping. I need packing supplies and toothpaste and tons of clothes. My wardrobe needs a pick me a up, badly. But, the roads are so bad and that has been the story for five days now, it seems, maybe more. I'm so tired to the weather. I used to not pay attention so much to it when I was little and younger, but now. It's almost unbearable.

I so want to see this movie, but so far there's no release date for America. *whimpers*



Yesterday, Bea Arthur passed away. As a huge Golden Girls fan, I'm shock. We're down to two of the fiesty ladies since Estelle passed away last year. *sighs* It's apart of life, seeing people pass on, but it still sucks. It feels like the end of an era, or something. Golden Girls has been more than just a show for me, it's been a home away from home, and the ladies that made it happen, the characters, really do feel like friends. Bea seemed like a helluva woman who never lost her sense of humor.

I finished the first season of the Tudors and have begun the second. At first, I was so proud of Catherine of Aragon and her fight to hold onto her crown and her husband. Because in the show, it is a fight for both. They make it plain that she still loves Henry. Despite how much he flaunts Anne before the court, dressing her in royal colors, bestowing more andmore honors on the Boleyn family, Catherine still prays for him, makes his shirts and inquires about his health. When Henry sends Catherine away to be with Mary when she falls in, and commands for her to stay there, she waxes sadly about how Henry didn't even say goodbye.

Now watching Catherine fight, its a bit depressing. Because it doesn't matter really if the cardinals side with her that her marriage is true and that there's no ground for an annullment. It doesn't matter if the Pope sides with her or every college draws up essays in her behalf. Because Henry will still have found another way to ge rid of her. No matter how many battles Catherine won, Henry's love and affection for her were gone, and it wasn't coming back. It seems though that Catherine, in the show at least, expected that it would. I don't understand why.

If only her sons had lived.

On the RL tip, I'm able to eat more, but there's still some soreness and a little swelling left. I also get tired at the drop of a hat. But, tomorrow's pay day!

Still sore, but I feel better. I still have tape residue from the IV. And speaking of IV's it took them three tries to have a good vein. I wasn't down with drug abuse before, and I NEVER will be after this. I mean owe! They said it would be a pinch, but it was more than a damn pinch. I could feel that damned needle being driven further into my body and it was not pleasant. WTF dentist dude?!

Got wisdom tooth removed. Haz percocet. Thank God for that. And chicken broth and soup and penicillin based drugs. I iz still sore tho.

Billy Dee is coming to General Hospital.  That in and of it itself is so damn good. GH was my main soap, but lately is been pretty damn flat. Not even Spinelli and Maxie have gotten me to watch lately.  I want more Jason/Sam love.  I didn't understand why Lucky had to be all in Rebecca's grill. I know she's not Emily (yet), but still it was creepy.  I thought they were trying to put Lucky back with Elizabeth.  I wish they'd do that. 

I am stoked that they brought Helena in. She probably won't be around for a while and her storyline will most likely be craptastic, but it's nice to see. And WTF are they doing to Ric? He could be so much more than what they give him to work with. I mean he's won fucking Emmy.  Use your talent GH! They put him on recurring status. That so pisses me off.  Let him try to change, that would be endearing anf interesting.  They also put Megan Ward on recurring status and that's fine with me. Kate Howard is a bitchy ice queen and I've never liked. Her point of being there is null and void with Olivia there now.  Go away.

OLTL plans to get rid of the Montez family in a couple of weeks. Thank God! Lola is killing me.  She's a fucking psycho and not remotely interesting. I love A Martinez though.  I like the Matt/Destiny story. That keeps me watching. That and Jess/Brody.

AMC killed off Greenlee and brought in Jamie Luner; that almost makes me wanna watch.  I've seen Ms. Luner in other shows and she's a joy to watch. Ryan and Kendall though make me want to run for the hills. I don't get why either of them are so damn popular, espcially Ryan.  He's so dull.

No new Criminal Minds or NCIS.  CBS, you make me cry.  I'll have to go get more Law and Order UK to tide me over.  Freema Agyeman and Jamie Bamber are grea distractions.

I am so behind on CSI:Miami.  I wanna watch the Tudors.  I need to buy Bones Season 3.

I watched the British miniseries Charles II: The Power and the Passion with Rufus Sewell. Anne-Marie Duff was in it too, James MacAvoy's wife, but I didn't realize it was her until after her character had died. Shirley Henderson, Moaning Myrtle, was great and one of my favorite parts, that and her hair. Helen McCrory though, whose acting was wonderful as usual, looked postively dreadful in the show. The lighting and lack of good makeup made her look 55. It was hard to believe that she was the hottest woman in the court and able to bed any man she wasnted practically, when she looked so horrid. And I've seen her look better; I just assume the makeup artist did it on purpose.

I saw that Hunger was out on dvd in the U.K. If I had a multi-regional dvd player I'd be all over that, 'cause who knows if it'll get to the U.S. I hope it does. Or I might have to pony up for a multi-regional player, which tends top be expensive. Though, I suppose it would be worth it. *runs off to check* Okay, so things have improved. I can get an all region dvd player for around 45 bucks. That makes me happy. There's some Hunger in my future after all.

I wish Hunger had gotten more play and build up in the states.

I wish I had more space and more money. I need a large desk in my room so I could go back to drawing. Drawing takes space and there's just not a whole lot in here.

I'm watching One Life to Live, yesterday's episode to be exact and I'm at the part where John, Marty and Todd are discussing what to do in order to save Starr and Cole from Rosen. When Todd exclaims that he has to do something because his daughter's stuck in the buiilding with a convicted rapist, the look Marty gives him is priceless. The ironyis thick in that scene.

I'm glad Markko told Langston about her cousin; he might get flack for having not told her sooner, but at least he didn't do that Soap Opera thing of "I'm keeping it from her in order to protect her." That's crap. It is the biggest bunch of crap and they use it too much on Soaps.

I want Gigi to tell Jessica so bad! Jessica and Brody were moving along so well until this. I don't want the train wreck that is Stacy to derail Jess and Brody. They deserve each other.

Oh, Mr. Michael Fassbender. I've been watching excerpts from your movie HUNGER. I don't pretend to understand all of the politics and their sids involved. I do know that there were moments of intense inhumane treatment going on in that movie and I can't readily see a justification for it. You totally deserve every award for the movie. You made me cringe, cry, shake and be ashamed of human beings. It was artistry unleashed and something to behold.

I can't wait to see the whole movie. Though, I admit I will be watching it with a blankie and a box of tissues.

Yesterday, work was pretty decent, with lots putting stock out and very small amounts of stupid people. That's a combination I like.

NCIS- usually I can totally see where you're going, but right about now I have no clue. I'm not complaining; it's acutally nice to see something and not be able to call the ending. I just can't wait for you to show your hand. And Gibbs helping Abby build a coffin: made of win!

Mom and I rented W. It was interesting. It painted George W. like he was a hurt son trying to impress and yet outdo his father. In the movie he had this tendecy to remind his staff that HE was the president, especially when it sounded as if they were trying to take credit for something (like all the work they did). It made him seem childish, at least to me. There were some moments when I really wanted to throtle Barbara Bush too. All in all it seemed realistic to me and I think Josh Brolin did a good job.

I just finished a marathon of work this week. All seven to eight hour shifts, mostly with one short one at the end. Which I was happy about, because if I'd had to do another long one I would have screamed. In retail you usually get some crazies and some dumb ones, but today we got a lot. Like, more than a day's share. If people would just use the reading skills they got when they were in elementary school, it'd be great. Honestly, you've got eyes and a brain, I have faith that you can figure it out. I hate the lazy ones refuse to do ANYTHING for themselves. I don't mind helping folks who at least gave it the college try, so to speak. But, the ones who don't EVEN try-- that shit just pisses me off. Our aisles are labeled and numbered, for crying out loud! Grrrr!

Read some JLA this week. I really want the Roy/Kendra relationship to just die. I like how in #25 Kendra basically blames their relationship problems all on Roy, when really, in my opinion it's all her. She won't open up, she's short tempered and goes off on the boy for no reason. You can't have a relationship with a brick wall. And honestly, we're not emotionally invested. We didn't get to see them connect, overcome obsticles, and actually get to know one another. They just flirted and hopped into bed. I have a hard time rooting for any couple where that is their basis for being together. And her refusal to accept her fate, even though its obvious she has feeling for Carter, comes off childish to me. She had wet dreams about the man for crying out loud. She needs to quit denying it.

The idea of doing a journal of a superhero wife has stayed with days after I first thought of it. Maybe that's a sign. I like the idea of doing journals for characters. I started a couple, but I know eventually the true winners will be the ones that keep me coming back to the them.

I wonder why the idea of journaling in someone else's shoes is so appealing. I guess for me its one of the best ways to really step into the mind of a character. I wonder if that makes me an identity whore? Do I love wearing masks that much?

I've always loved superheroes and the people surrounding them. I've always wanted to know how it feel if someone I loved was neck high in that world. We get some of that in comics. Alfred. Ma Hunkel. I suppose Lois counts but she annoys the FUCK straight out of me.Is it wrong to want to put your own spin on stuff. My instinctive answer if no, or they'd be no stories or characters at all.

I probably shouldn't be adding anything to my plate. My Main Project right now is gonna stay in the front burner and I suppose this new one will be done when I have the time. I have to stick to my priority rules or NOTHING will get done.

That reminds me I should churn out at least 2 pages today. *sigh*

Why is Kate acting like such a bitch? Honestly, bug crawled up her butt and is driving this whole Maxie/Johnny thing? Does she have a vendetta against Lulu? Lulu may not be a natural like Maxie, but dammit she's learning and trying and getting better by the day. Cut the girl some fucking slack. Without her and her boyfriend you'd be up shit creek by now. Is she trying to sabotage their relationship? Why, because of Claudia. Because if so that makes no sense. Whatsoever.

I almost feel as if Kate's reason to be on the show is no longer here. Like she has no reason to stick around. She was pulled into Port Charles because of Sonny and Trevor. Trevor had screwed her over and Sonny was the long lost first love. She thought she could save him from the darkness (like that shit hasn't been tried by better and hotter women) Well, that backfired. They broke up and as it turns out he wasn't just fooling around with her back in the day. I like Olivia. A lot. She understand Sonny without being crazy about the guy and in a woman that shit's rare. She wasn't Sonny's first and no one can pull him away from the mob. Trevor's dead. Crimson is a viable success and honestly it would make more sense to operate from NYC, a fashion and who's who mecca. I don't see why she's still around.

Onto DC Comics...

Cass isn't going to be Batgirl anymore? Really? Why does Didio hate her so much. I liked Cass; she was part of the reason I got back into comics. Not everyone wants to masturbate to Silver Age characters and stories. Hal Jordan and Barry Allen are not the end all and be all of heroes in comics. Give it up DiDio. Hal Jordan is not that cool. Half the times he comes off as a womanizing Gary Stu, but that's just me.

Hal coming back at least gave me the new Green Lantern team book and Guy Gardner on a regular basis. And I love Guy Gardner. I probably shouldn't, but I do.

What is it going to have to take to get you to air new episodes of Criminal Minds and NCIS? Do I have to bake you cookies? Make you hot chocolate? I have to wait until next week you say? You're mean...

In other news, I heard that the powers that be over on General Hospital killed off Leyla. I'm guessing this was done to fulfill the commercial's promise that someone would die, but really? This death was so missable, it was a big who cares. At the same time I'm angered because I feel as if we barely got to know Leyla, like she just stepped onto the canvas. They used her to make Robin jealous, to hang out with Spinelli and then that was it. How lame. She had more potential then Nadine. As a longtime fan of comics, I get why they killed her though. Killing off characters and/or raping them is the new thing, its in, because they'd rather of shock value than a damn good story. But, if you're going to send a character to the chopping block, then you'd better make sure it a good choice. Because character deaths have more meaning if its a character the audience has invested in, that has had development and/or storylines that the audience has connected with. Remember when they killed off Superman and everyone shat in their pants? How about Captain America? Or more recently Batman (of which I am still mourning)

When Emily died it was tragic and it broke an era; no more four musketeers. When her father died it was heart breaking; I still miss Alan . No one will give as much care over Leyla. Poor choice. Though as a fan I'm glad it wasn't someone I cared more about. Send Spinelli, Carly or Sam to the chopping block and watch my head spin around and pea soup fly out, why don't you. Leyla lacked the screen time and the storylines to make her death anything more than a damn-that-sucks moment. Yes, you're supposed to chase your characters up trees and throw rocks at them, as it were, but make the chasing the and the rocks count, GH. Don't make me drop you, like I did AMC. *glares*

Oh, and DAYS, what's with firing Patch and Kayla? Are you going to start pawning furniture too, to the pay the bills? Just warn me first...
